About Us

Troop 37, Los Altos, is a member of the Pacific Skyline Council. We meet most Mondays from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM at the Los Altos Youth Center in Los Altos, California, in the heart of Silicon Valley.  Our chartering organization is the Los Altos Rotary Club, and we are very thankful for their support.

We are known as "The Kayak Troop" since our Scouts build their own kayaks from plywood and canvas, hoping that they float at our Kayak picnic.  After that, the boys have the opportunity to attend a week-long Kayak Camp (sponsored by the Troop) where they can take their kayaks with them.  Many of our Scouts also attend a week-long visit to Camp Oljato, located in the foothills near Fresno.

Troop 37 was first chartered in 1918 as Troop 1.  Our designation was later changed to  37.

You can find a detailed troop history here (5 page word document).
